Your child's day at Sunny Tree House blends creative art, motor skills, science and discovery, language arts, and music and dance. Learning happens in small structured activities, large group activities, and play. Teachers use The Creative Curriculum, a research-based curriculum for children with diverse backgrounds and skill levels. It starts at the infant level and continues through Pre-Kindergarten.
At Sunny Tree House, children learn through play. Teachers encourage child-initiated activities and also provide a structured foundation. Each child learns at their own pace, and our staff supports those differences. Your child's day includes activities that engage them mentally and physically. We promote gross motor activities daily and encourage outdoor play in all four seasons, where children build physical skills and learn about science and nature.
In a licensed early childhood setting, the daily rhythm rotates between active and quiet, large group and small group. Children might paint at an easel in the morning, build with blocks on the floor, listen to a story, then move outside to run and climb. Teachers write plans in advance, set out materials, and adjust when a child is ready for the next step.
The benefit shows up at home in small ways. A child who has practiced pouring water at the sensory table may start pouring their own milk. A child who has sung group songs may come home with new words. When teachers follow a research-based plan, learning is steady rather than accidental, and you can ask at any time what your child is working on.
